Bylaws

These are some of our most commonly requested bylaws. A full list of bylaws is available in the Village office for viewing; copies are available for a minimal fee.

Animal Control Bylaw No.7/11

The purpose of this Bylaw is to regulate animals and to maintain safe and responsible animal ownership and to provide for penalties for not abiding by the bylaw.

Business License Bylaw No.3/16

The purpose of this Bylaw is to license businesses within the Village of Christopher Lake.

General Penalty Bylaw

The purpose for this Bylaw is for the enforcement of the bylaws of the municipality pursuant to the MA.

Inter-Municipal Business License and Inter-Municipal Business Activity Bylaw No.7/16

The purpose of this Bylaw is to to alleviate requirements for multiple business licenses for business to operate within the inter-municipal business area.

Minimum Tax Bylaw No.3/18

The purpose of this Bylaw is to evenly distribute the cost of essential services , levies, maintenance and administration costs, including a Capital Infrastructure Fund.

Nuisance Abatement Bylaw No.2/06

The purpose of this Bylaw is to provide for the abatement of nuisances including property, activities or things that adversely affect the safety, health or welfare of people in the neighborhood.

Open Fires and Control and Discharge of Fireworks Bylaw No. 2/17

The purpose of this bylaw is to regulate open fires and fireworks within the Village.

Respecting Buildings Bylaw No.12/14

The purpose of this Bylaw is to protect public health, safety and general welfare as they relate to the construction and occupancy of buildings and structures.

Official Community Plan

The purpose of this Bylaw is to provide goals, objectives and policies to guide the management of the use of land and its future development within the Village of Christopher Lake.

Tax Holiday Policy

The purpose of this Bylaw is to encourage growth and prosperity within the Village of Christopher Lake.

Zoning Bylaw No.5/14

The purpose of this Bylaw is to control the use and development of land within the  Village of Christopher Lake.
